Snowdon Rail Arrives at Chirk

Thanks to a generous donation, a delivery of ex-Snowdon Mountain Railway rail was delivered at Chirk last Friday. An artic lorry arrived from Llanberis and the rail was skillfully offloaded by GVT excavator driver Pete. The rail is in as-new condition and totals 14 ten meter long lengths, much longer than we’re usually used to!
While slightly harder to handle and move, this should result in smoother running in the near future.

The rail will be laid along the Chirk straight once other housekeeping jobs are completed around the site.
