This privacy policy sets out how the Glyn Valley Tramway Trust (GVTT) uses and protects any information that you give the GVTT by using this website or signing up as a member.

You have a number of important rights regarding your personal information under the UK’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legal framework. This includes transparency: for any of your information we collect, store or process, we need to explain how we have used your information to you in clear language. Thus, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. The GVTT may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. What we collect

You are under no obligation to share your data with us, and we will collect the minimal possible data from you to deliver our services and work towards our charitable aims. When signing up as a member, you entrust us with the following information:

  • Your name

  • Your phone number

  • Your email address

  • Your home address

  • Your age, so we can serve age appropriate discounts

  • Your interests in a programme or service, e.g. an event you are attending

Personal information beyond the above which you might provide us is unlikely to be relevant to our purposes and will be safely destroyed or anonymised.

What we do with the information we gather

Whenever we collect your information, we only use it for the following purposes:

  • Internal record keeping – showing funders our progress

  • To connect you to events, programmes and services in which you have expressed interest, including through an email newsletter

  • To deliver our services to you, including where necessary through third-party systems such as (but not limited to) Eventbrite, Squarespace or Mailchimp

  • We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests, e.g. by providing members-only information

  • To store your information on a secure cloud service, which may have servers outside the EEC, to ensure smooth administration

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Controlling your personal information – your rights
